It’s time to grab the rain gear.
The San Fernando Valley will get a good watering this week as the region experiences its first significant rainfall of the season.
Cloudy skies, showers and isolated thunderstorms are on tap for today, with high temperatures reaching only the mid- to upper 60s, forecasters predict.
Tuesday and Wednesday, skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers both days. High temperatures will range from the low to mid-60s on Tuesday and the mid- to upper 60s on Wednesday.
The sun is expected to peek out from behind the clouds Thursday, pushing the mercury into the high 60s and low 70s. By late afternoon, however, clouds will increase, dropping temperatures back down into the mid-60s on Friday, when showers are expected once again.
“As far as the rain is concerned, it won’t be anything really heavy; no flooding rains,” said John Sherwin, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecast information to The Times.
Today’s high temperatures are expected to be 66 in Burbank, Woodland Hills and Chatsworth and 65 in Van Nuys.
