Riordan, America Online Exec to Speak

Mayor Richard Riordan and George Vradenburg III, senior vice president and general counsel of America Online Inc., will be the keynote speakers at the Valley Industry and Commerce Assn. luncheon and conference Friday.

Riordan, who is expected to give his annual “State of the Valley” speech, will join Vradenburg at the lunch meeting from 12:15 to 2 p.m. at the Warner Center Marriott Hotel, 21850 Oxnard St.

Vradenburg is a frequent lecturer on technical, trade and social issues related to communications and entertainment, VICA officials said.

State Treasurer Matt Fong also will speak at the ninth Business Forecast Conference breakfast meeting.

More than 600 civic and business leaders are expected at the luncheon and conference, which is open to the public.

The daylong event, which begins at 7:30 a.m., will include seminars and exhibits from more than 50 VICA members. Issues to be discussed include forecasts in real estate, electric power deregulation and entertainment technology.

Admission to the conference is $95, including breakfast, lunch, attendance at event seminars and parking. Admission to the lunch only is $60.
