From Times Wire Reports

The last of Ontario’s striking teachers unions, representing 35,000 high school teachers, said its members will return to work today, ending a bitter two-week protest that halted classes for 2.1 million students. Four other unions, representing more than 90,000 teachers, had announced over the previous few days that their members would return to work today while looking for other ways to continue protesting a government education bill. The proposed legislation would give the government, rather than local school boards, control over such matters as teacher preparation time, class size and the setting of local tax rates for education.
