Cindy Brown Signs With WNBA
Cindy Brown, the first of two ABL players to defect to the WNBA, signed a two-year contract with her new league.
Brown, 32, expects to be assigned to the expansion team in Detroit, her agent, Trisonya Thompson Abraham, said.
“My understanding is the league will place Nikki McCray [the second ABL defector, who signed last month] in Washington,” Abraham said. “They didn’t want them both on the same team.”
Brown, a former All-American at Long Beach State, was the ABL’s No. 4 scorer (17.5 points a game) and No. 3 rebounder (8.3) with Seattle last season.
