New Softball, Soccer Fields to Be Considered
Plans for soccer fields at the former Costa Mesa High School farm and additional softball fields at TeWinkle Memorial Park will be considered Monday by the City Council.
Council members are expected to award a $71,220 contract for designing the soccer complex. Construction of the fields is expected to cost $1.4 million.
A separate $74,205 contract is expected to go to a contractor for the redesign of softball fields at TeWinkle Memorial Park.
The park has two softball fields, but increasing demand has spurred the city to add two more. Price estimates for the softball project are not available.
City staff members are recommending the council approve both projects. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, 77 Fair Drive. Information: (714) 754-5223.
