No. 20 Oklahoma 75, Jackson State 62--Corey Brewer scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Sooners to a sloppy victory at Norman. Oklahoma shot 34% and missed its first eight shots of the second half.

Ryan Blackwell led Syracuse with 17 points in a 60-57 victory over North Carolina Asheville at Syracuse. . . . Senior guard Levell Sanders made a career-high seven three-point baskets and scored 23 points at East Rutherford, N.J., to lead Seton Hall to a season-opening 76-60 victory over St. Peter’s, giving Tommy Amaker a victory in his coaching debut with the Pirates.

Wake Forest starting point guard Tony Rutland, the team’s leading returning scorer, must sit out the first two games of the season after playing two games in a summer basketball league not sanctioned by the NCAA.
