Turn Your Cash Into Cashmere at Annual William Kasper Sale

If you are committed to finding good stuff at a good price, this is the week to venture forth. Saturday and Sunday, it’s the annual William Kasper pre-holiday sale when two-ply (and up) 100% cashmere apparel is brought in from the company’s Topeka, Kan., factory and sold directly to the public. These are mainly factory overruns, but all first quality, at prices that go anywhere from 40%-90% off retail.

Sweatshirts made of a combination of cashmere and silk--that retail for $159--will be selling for $99. Men’s basic crew or V-neck sweaters that are usually $199 are on sale for $99 and classics for women (long-sleeved crew and Polo neck) that retail for $139, can be purchased for $79. Odd lot cashmere slacks, which amazingly do not bag in the knees any more than other fabrics, will be $29 and up, as will the skirts.

There is always a warm and happy atmosphere at this sale, which is regularly attended by many friends and family members of the Kaspers, as well as all those cashmere devotees out there trying to put a large dent in their holiday gift lists.
