3 Local Firms Seen as Having Strong Teen Links

A Wall Street investment banking firm says three Southern California apparel and retailing companies are establishing strong links to the fast-growing teen population that now spends $80 billion annually. Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. cited Santa Fe Springs-based Vans Inc., Costa Mesa-based Quiksilver Inc. and Pomona-based Hot Topic Inc. as firms that are positioned to benefit from the fast-growing teen market. Ladenburg Thalmann said teen shoppers are “tough customers” who appreciate strong brands, solid customer service and hot trends.
