Two Jewish seminary students were killed in a shooting in the Muslim quarter of Jerusalem’s walled Old City. The two students were shot near the Damascus Gate, police officials said. Israel Radio identified the victims as students at the Ateret Cohanim Yeshiva. The yeshiva, funded partly by Miami businessman Irving Moskowitz, is known for purchasing Arab land in East Jerusalem for Jewish settlements. Army Radio said police believed that the gunman was Palestinian but were still investigating.
