Rookie forward Maurice Taylor, who sat out three games to fly home to Detroit two weeks ago after his grandmother was seriously injured in a traffic accident there, has been outstanding since returning.

Taylor, the Clippers’ first round draft pick from Michigan, has averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in his last two games, after averaging seven points and 2.3 rebounds in his first six games.

“I’m just getting more minutes, and in my last couple games I was able to show a lot more, “ said Taylor, who has averaged 23 minutes in his last two games, after averaging 12.2 minutes in his first six.
