The early buzz regarding the 1998 NHL entry draft has Vincent Lecavalier going as the top pick in the first round. Lecavalier, a 6-foot-3, 182-pound center from Ile-Bizard, Canada, plays for the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He leads his team with 21 goals and 33 assists (54 points) in 26 games. Lecavalier, 17, is fifth in scoring in the league.
