Cancer Society Needs Help Minding Store

The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop is looking for volunteers to help with an increase in contributions during the holiday season, its busiest time of the year.

The store sells furniture, clothes and other items and uses the proceeds to help pay for transporting cancer patients for treatment and medical equipment for in-home cases.

“We can use extra hands to process the donations, work like sorting, pricing and steaming clothes,” said store manager Jacqui Slotterbeck.

The store accepts donations but only of high-end merchandise with brand names like Ethan Allen and Baker. Contributions need to be in excellent condition.
