Studio Tours Included in Local Artists Festival

The second annual Echo Park Artists Festival, featuring gallery and studio tours, workshops for young artists and musical entertainment will take place today on Lemoyne Avenue between Sunset Boulevard and the park.

The tours, which begin at noon and continue until 6 p.m., take visitors through the workplaces of such local artists as Maria Leon, Frank Romero, Jennifer Palmer-Lacey, Olivia Sanchez Brown and Peter Shire.

“Echo Park’s art community is one reason I’ve lived there for almost 30 years,” said Councilwoman Jackie Goldberg, whose 13th Council District office was instrumental in organizing the festival. “Echo Park artists and events like this festival express the very essence of Los Angeles--vibrant, diverse and alive with creativity.”
