Police on Tuesday appealed to the passenger in an automobile that struck and killed an 87-year-old woman in Hollywood to come forward and name the driver.
“Anyone who was a passenger in the suspect’s vehicle may come forward with information, as they are not subject to any criminal prosecution at this time,” Los Angeles Police Det. Antonio Lee said.
The woman who was killed, Zarui Karoyan, ) was carrying a bag of groceries as she crossed Santa Monica Boulevard at Gordon Street about 7 p.m. Thursday, Lee said. The car that hit her slowed momentarily before pulling away, leaving the injured woman in the street, police said. She died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center about an hour later.
Lee urged the passenger, whose identity is not known, or anyone else with information about the name or whereabouts of the driver, to call detectives at (310) 202-4547 or the watch commander at (310) 202-4545.
