Worker Who Died at TRW Plant Identified
The worker who died when he touched a live wire and fell 25 feet at an aerospace plant Monday has been identified as Guy Roberts, 41, of San Juan Capistrano.
Roberts, an employee of Capistrano Cleaning, was working with another man washing walls Monday at a test facility at TRW Inc., 33000 Avenida Pico, San Clemente, said Dan McClain, communications director for the TRW Space and Electronics Group.
Roberts was atop a ladder near the ceiling when he touched a live electric bar that supplies power to an overhead crane, similar to the electrified third rail that powers subway trains, McClain said.
Roberts was dead on arrival at Columbia San Clemente Hospital and Medical Center.
McClain said Roberts had been briefed about safety procedures earlier in the day. The state Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating.
