UCI Basketball’s Robinson Ruled Ineligible for Fall

UC Irvine’s Wendell Robinson is academically ineligible for the fall quarter, Anteater men’s basketball Coach Pat Douglass said Tuesday.

Robinson, a 6-foot-8 forward, will miss at least five games. He could return for the winter quarter and be eligible beginning for the Anteater game Dec. 13 against San Diego State.

“Wendell took summer classes and improved his grades, but he wasn’t quite up to snuff,” Douglass said. “He has experience [on the college level] and we don’t have that many experienced players.”

Robinson, a transfer from Santa Monica College, averaged 8.1 points and 4.6 rebounds last season.
