President Paul Biya is widely expected to win reelection when voters go to the polls Sunday. Besides Biya, who has ruled for 15 years, eight other candidates are vying for the post. The only key challenger is Samuel Eboua, a former government official. Eboua, however, is expected to win just a fraction of the vote. The three main opposition parties have already announced that they will boycott the vote to protest the absence of an independent election commission.
