Ian Olsen Heads New Rockwell Unit

Ian Olsen has been chosen to head up Newport Beach-based Rockwell Semiconductor Systems’ new personal imaging division. He was appointed vice president and general manager of the division, which will develop, manufacture and market semiconductor system solutions for facsimile products and other personal imaging devices. Olsen had been director of marketing for the Personal Systems group at National Semiconductor.

Lew Graham has been named director of U.S. leasing for Newport Beach-based Koll Real Estate Group’s Asian business unit, C.P. Koll Investment Co. Ltd. The unit is a joint venture between Koll and Charoen Pokphand Group, a Thailand conglomerate. Graham will be based in Newport Beach and direct all leasing efforts in the U.S. for various projects in Asia. Graham was previously vice president of Koll Retail Group, a division of Koll Real Estate Services.

Michel Maeso has joined EIS, a presentation and communication systems integrator, as regional vice president in the Irvine office. He will manage sales and service for the Southwest division, which includes Southern California, southern Nevada and Arizona. Maeso formerly worked at AT&T; and was Western region sales manager for PictureTel.

Pat Austin has joined Musser Architects in Costa Mesa as a project manager. He was previously with Berkus Group Architects in Irvine, CYP International in Newport Beach and Danielian Associates in Irvine.

William McManes has been appointed vice president of sales for StarBase Corp. in Irvine. McManes has more than 10 years’ experience in software sales and executive management with several companies including Amdahl, Template Software, Intersolv and most recently Magic Software, where he was vice president of sales.

Robert M. Curran has been appointed vice president of marketing and sales for AirTouch Cellular’s Southern California region. He will be based in Irvine. Curran has previously held executive positions in operations, marketing, sales, engineering and customer care for International Wireless Communications, 360 Communications and Sprint Cellular.

Scott Muir has been named chief financial officer at Monitoring Automation Systems in Irvine, a provider of monitoring and security software. Before joining the company almost seven years ago, he worked at Eli Lilly and American Aerospace.

John McElroy has been appointed vice president of human resources, administration and information systems for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. in Cypress. He was formerly director of human resources and administration.

Carol Pollack has been named interim chief financial officer of Comprehensive Care Corp., as part of the company’s consolidation of financial functions in its Florida operations facility. Pollack joined CompCare after 18 years with Cigna Corp. She succeeds Kerri Ruppert, CompCare treasurer and chief financial officer, who left the company in September. In addition, the company said W. James Nicol resigned as a director of the company for personal reasons.

Victor Streufert has been appointed senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer of National Telephone & Communications Inc. in Irvine. He joined the company in 1996 as vice president and chief financial officer, after serving as vice president and chief financial officer for Pyxis Corp. Debbie Chuckas has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president of marketing. Since joining National Telephone in 1993, she has been vice president of marketing, director of marketing support, manager of continuing marketing support and project manager.

Kosta Duncan has joined Johnson Capital Group Inc., an Irvine real estate investment advisory company, as vice president of capital markets. He had been a senior investment analyst with MetLife Real Estate in Los Angeles.

Sharon Richardson has been named marketing manager and managed account programs coordinator for Palley-Needelman Asset Management Inc. in Newport Beach. She was previously director of graphics for the company.

Julie Newcomb Hill, president and chief executive of Costain Homes, has been selected chair of UC Irvine’s Chief Executive Roundtable for 1997-98. Charles A. Haggerty, chairman, president and chief executive of Western Digital Corp., is vice chair.

Darroll Buytenhuys has been named president of New Dimension Software’s North American subsidiary in Irvine. Buytenhuys, who joined the company six years ago, was most recently chief operating officer. Buytenhuys succeeds Dalia Katzman-Prashker, who remains chairman of the subsidiary as well as co-chairman of the Tel Aviv-based parent company and chairman of Eagle Eye Control Software, another subsidiary also based in Tel Aviv.

Kathy Shaw is the new marketing director at the Buena Park Mall, a 1.2-million-square-foot regional shopping center managed and leased by the Festival Cos. She previously held marketing positions in Texas with Simon DeBartolo Group.

Mark P. de Raad has joined ATL Products Inc., an Irvine manufacturer of automated tape library systems, as vice president, finance and chief financial officer. He succeeds Gregory A. Miner, vice president, finance and chief financial officer of Odetics Inc., who held the position on an interim basis. ATL is being spun off from Odetics. De Raad joins ATL after 10 years at AST Research Inc., most recently as vice president, finance and treasurer.

Roger Kranz has been named publisher of the Business Press, a weekly business newspaper in the Inland Empire. Kranz was previously retail sales manager for the Times Orange County Edition, and before that was advertising director for the Orange County Business Journal.

Stephen Krom has been appointed vice president of marketing for Pacific Bell Mobile Services’ five-county Los Angeles region, based in Costa Mesa. Krom, who joined the company in 1995, had been director of offer marketing at headquarters in Pleasanton.

Penelope Parmes has been elected president of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, a bankruptcy bar association. She is a partner in the Irvine office of Snell & Wilmer LLP.
