Lindros Wins It for Flyers in Overtime

Eric Lindros scored 1:49 into overtime and Garth Snow stopped 43 shots--25 in the second period--to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks at San Jose on Monday night.
Lindros took the puck at center ice, came into the Shark zone on a 2-on-1 with John LeClair and fired a wrist shot past Kelly Hrudey.

Rick Tocchet scored the team’s first power-play goal of the season in the second period as the Phoenix Coyotes defeated the winless Chicago Blackhawks, 2-1, at Phoenix. . . . Bryan Berard scored a power-play goal with 26 seconds remaining in regulation to give the New York Islanders a 2-2 tie with the Florida Panthers at Miami. . . . The St. Louis Blues won their fifth game in a row, defeating the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-1, at St. Louis. . . . Kirk McLean made 33 saves as the Vancouver Canucks upended the Edmonton Oilers, 3-0, at Vancouver. Martin Gelinas, the Canucks’ leading scorer last season, sprained his left knee in a collision with Oiler defenseman Dan McGillis.
