Redemption Song: Pioneer funk musician Rick James, who served two years in state prison for a drug-related assault on a woman in his Hollywood Hills home, released a new album Tuesday. Fans jammed Fortune Records and The Wherehouse in L.A. to buy “Urban Rapsody” and meet the “Super Freak” singer, apparently undeterred by his 1994 conviction in Van Nuys.
