Disabled Woman’s Harasser Still Sought

Share

A $1,000 reward is being offered to help find the person who slashed the tires and left a threatening note on the car of a physically disabled woman.

“What we’re trying to do is get someone to come forward with who did this to Shannon Carson,” said Jack Hubbard, a private investigator from San Clemente who volunteered his help after reading of the incident last month. “We want anyone else who is contemplating a hate crime to think twice when they see the community lining up behind her.”

Mike Carson, the woman’s husband, put up $900 for the reward and Hubbard provided the rest.

Carson, who has cerebral palsy and occasionally needs a wheelchair, found her tires slashed and a note that said: “We don’t need any cripples here. One night you and your daughter will die if you don’t leave.”

Orange County sheriff’s investigators are looking into the incident, but have not made any arrests. The reward will be paid for information leading to a conviction.

Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Department at (714) 647-7000.
