Oxnard Seizes Control, Rolls Over Ventura, 32-0

Oxnard High controlled the clock and played exceptional defense in a 32-0 victory over Ventura in a Channel League game Friday night at Oxnard.

Oxnard (5-1, 3-0 in league play) limited the Cougars (2-4, 1-2) to 52 total yards and only 14 in the first half. The Yellowjackets gained 457 total yards.

Desmond Davis, a senior who has rushed for more than 100 yards in every game this season, gained 119 in 17 carries and scored on runs of three and 14 yards. Davis sat out the second half because of an injury to his left knee.

Backup running back Ho Kaikaina rushed for 116 yards in 14 carries and scored from two yards in the second half. Oxnard rushed for 287 yards.

Saul Aguilar, kicking for the first time since being suspended for two games for disciplinary reasons, booted field goals of 28 and 26 yards.
