Update--Long Beach has a solid chance to go to 3-0 tonight, with two days’ rest after beating Colorado in Denver Saturday, 76-64, while the Xplosion lost at Seattle, 79-62, on Sunday. Two games down and 42 to go may be early, but it’s nonetheless the Yolanda Griffith Show so far for the StingRays. The No. 1 draft pick had 26 points and nine rebounds in the opening victory over San Jose, and 27 points and 20 rebounds at Denver. Her 14 defensive rebounds Saturday matched the ABL single-game record set by Natalie Williams last season. Long Beach also is getting production from 5-foot-9 Beverly Williams, at 31 the team’s oldest player but easily the busiest. She has 27 points in the two games, with seven steals and eight assists. San Jose gets a rematch with Long Beach at San Jose State’s Events Center on Friday.
