Buddy Greco to Host Day of Jazz Activities

Jazz pianist and vocalist Buddy Greco will host a special day of jazz Oct. 30 in Santa Monica. He will conduct a jazz workshop at the Boys and Girls Club/New Roads School, 1238 Lincoln Blvd., at 1 p.m.

The Sam Phipps Quintet will perform during a 6 p.m. reception at Borders Books & Music, 1415 3rd St. A free screening of the music documentary “Blue Note: A Story of Modern Jazz” will be shown at 7 p.m. at Borders. The event is sponsored by Bravo, the film and arts network, and Century Communications.
