Strange days, indeed. . . .

Hindu Kush Orchestra, at Goldfingers on Monday, 6423 Yucca St., Hollywood, (213) 962-2913. L.A.’s music chameleon Tequilla Mockingbird is singing a new tune, channeling up some Indian ambience with the Hindu Kush Orchestra. Bindis offered at the door. 21 and over, $3 cover.

Impotent Sea Snakes, at Moguls on Friday, 1650 N. Schrader Ave., Hollywood, (213) 465-7449. Something in that Florida water turned these glamour boys bad, real bad. It’s difficult to determine what’s more grotesque, the Sea Snakes’ vulgar, sexually explicit lyrics or the leg hair poking out of their collective fishnet stockings. 18 and over, call for cover.

Incredibly Strange Wrestling, at Moguls (call club for November date), 1650 N. Schrader Ave., Hollywood, (213) 465-7449. “Incredibly strange” is an understatement. In between performances by live bands, masked Mexican wrestlers dressed in distinctive superhero attire (for example, El Homo Loco’s mask features a pink feather boa mohawk) pummel each other in a makeshift ring, while the crowd showers them with hot dogs and tortillas. 18 and over, $10 cover.

Jim Rose Circus, at the House of Blues on Dec. 3-4, 8430 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, (213) 848-5100. If you get grossed out easily, do not attend this modern-day version of the traveling freak show. Those who can stomach stoopidhumantrix, I double-dog dare you not to flinch at Rose’s grotesqueries. 21 and over, $20 cover.

Mr. T’s Bowl, 5621 N. Figueroa Ave., Highland Park, (213) 960-5693. This defunct, de-funky bowling alley is way out there with its kooky karaoke Wednesdays, Thursday’s thinking-man’s talent show and Dan West’s new offbeat Sunday Jazz Jamboree. 21 and over, cover varies (also, live music on Friday and Saturday).

The Plush Life, at Casita Del Campo Restaurant, Saturdays at 10 p.m. through Dec. 6 (except Nov. 8), 1920 Hyperion Ave., Silver Lake, (213) 969-2596. The Plush Life bills itself as an “all-improv, sitcom soap-opera,” promising “high drama, low-rent, mobile-home Masterpiece Theatre.” Alistair Cooke would be envious. 21 and over, $8 cover.
