Clinton Lawyer Seeks Jones’ Donor Records
- Share via
President Clinton’s lawyer asked a judge to order the former director of Paula Corbin Jones’ legal fund to release donor records, saying they could reveal the motives behind her $700,000 sexual-harassment lawsuit against the president. Jones and Cindy Hays, the fund’s former director, are fighting the request, saying that disclosing them would subject donors to reprisals. Robert S. Bennett said records should reveal whether Jones is seeking to profit from the suit or embarrass the president, and whether she is drawing expenses and having other fees paid by contributors. Jones claims Clinton exposed himself and asked her for oral sex in a Little Rock hotel room while he was governor. Clinton has denied the allegations.
