Motorola Inc. will make pagers that let users receive news about contests and programming on Viacom Inc.’s Music Television cable network, an effort to boost lagging sales by targeting young adults and teenagers. The devices, which will also provide traditional pager services, will be sold in music and specialty stores nationwide beginning next month. They’ll be distributed by closely held Nationwide Network Services. Shares of Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola rose $3.44 to close at $62.44 on the NYSE.
