Funds Sought for College Wheelchair
Local Kiwanis clubs and the Moorpark College Foundation hope to make maneuvering between classes a bit easier for handicapped students at Moorpark College.
The foundation and the Kiwanis clubs of Moorpark, Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks hope to raise $4,000 for an electric wheelchair.
Each semester, several injured students typically use the sole manual wheelchair owned by Moorpark College’s Disabled Student Program.
To raise money for the electric wheelchair, the clubs are selling $10 tickets for a tailgate dinner and admission to Saturday’s Moorpark versus West Los Angeles College football game. The dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Griffith Stadium parking lot. The game begins at 7 p.m.
