Calabasas Hills-based Cheesecake Factory Inc. appointed Michael A. Nahkunst executive vice president and chief operating officer, a new position at the company. . . . San Jose-based 3Dfx Interactive Inc. said it sued Japan’s Sega Enterprises Ltd. and NEC Corp. after Sega dropped 3Dfx as a supplier of chips for its next generation of video game consoles. 3Dfx said the lawsuit accuses Sega of gaining access to its proprietary technology, then canceling the contract to supply graphics chips and handing the business to Japan’s NEC. 3Dfx said it sued NEC for interfering with its contract. A Sega of America spokesman declined to comment, saying the company had not been served with the lawsuit. No one from NEC was immediately available to comment.
