More Management Shuffling at Fox Broadcasting

Share

In an effort to bolster the management of its television group, News Corp. promoted David Hill to chairman and chief executive of Fox Broadcasting Co. from president of Fox Television Group and named Larry Jacobson to the new position of president of Fox Television Network. Jacobson was formerly executive vice president and chief financial officer of Fox Broadcasting.

The appointments are part of a restructuring of Fox Broadcasting over the last year, as Chase Carey, the chairman and chief executive of Fox Television, has assumed the added role of chief operating officer of parent News Corp., where he is Rupert Murdoch’s main deal maker. Fox said Jacobson will oversee areas that previously reported to Carey, such as network distribution, finance, research, operations and business development.

Fox sources said Hill’s role essentially stays the same, with Fox Entertainment, the Fox Television Network, Fox Kids Network and Fox Sports reporting to him.
