The thin crescent moon, Venus and Spica--the brightest star in Virgo-are grouped together low in the west shortly after sunset tonight. Spica is only a hundreth as bright at Venus. Mars, to the east, is slightly fainter than Spica. Friday the slightly fuller moon will be roughly between Venus and Mars, and on Saturday night the moon will be a short distance straight to the right of Mars.
