Miami’s German Has Appeal Denied
Jammi German’s troubled collegiate career as a Miami Hurricane officially came to a close Tuesday when the NCAA refused the wide receiver’s appeal to play his senior season.
German, one of the Hurricanes’ most explosive offensive threats, was declared ineligible last week because he initially lied about a limousine ride he took in Nov. 30, 1995, that was paid for by a sports agent.

Florida Coach Steve Spurrier reportedly has signed a six-year, $12-million contract extension. . . . Alabama will play a home-and-home series with Oklahoma beginning in 2002.
