Search for Equestrian Site Consultant OKd
The city has approved funds to search for a consultant to perform a detailed cost-analysis of what it would take to make Broome Ranch a permanent equestrian center.
Mark Towne, coordinator of the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency, said the money--which will not exceed $10,000--will come from developer fees collected by Thousand Oaks. The City Council voted to approve the expenditure this week.
The scope of what needs to be done for site designs and the corresponding costs go beyond the expertise of the agency staff, Towne said.
The agency is looking at a 20-acre spot of land at the southwestern edge of Broome Ranch for a permanent equestrian center.
Towne will start researching consulting firms and said he may be able to present his recommendation to the agency in November.
