Thief Drives Off in Car Containing Jewelry in Trunk
COSTA MESA —
Several thousand dollars worth of jewelry in the trunk of a car was lost when a thief made off with the car Friday night, police said.
About 7:30 p.m., Costa Mesa police were called to the 2200 block of Maple Street, where a jewelry store employee said his white 1995 Ford Mustang had been stolen, police said.
He reported that the jewels were in the trunk. Details of the type of jewelry and the exact amount weren’t available Friday night, police said.
