Hearing Scheduled on Management of Parks

Share

Public input is needed to help develop a new general management plan and a companion environmental impact statement for the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

Meetings will be held to give citizens an opportunity to discuss special features in the recreation area that should be protected and preserved, said National Park Service spokeswoman Jean Bray. Opinions about management style and operations will also be welcome, she said.

The National Park Service, the California Department of Parks and Recreation and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy are trying to establish a basic philosophy and management concepts for their parks.
