The Love Line

Was it a mere eight months ago that Courtney Love graced the Golden Globe Awards, top left, with a bob that recalled the torch-song artists of the ‘40s? (That alone made us forget about a raft of bad-girl escapades from the past.) We didn’t think it was possible, but Love just got sleeker, top right, for an Oscar appearance. Months later, during a premiere for the film “Nowhere,” Love flaunted a devil-may-care look, bottom left, which was, perhaps, offset by that cross around her neck. Still later, she turned up at another L.A. premiere with curls and a smile to match those of any starlet. So what’s next for the woman who once defined the term “hard-edged”? Well, sometime this year, in a studio far, far away, the in- evitable happened. Hair extensions. Bright, buttery hair extensions, which can be seen on the cover of Bazaar magazine right now. With color like that, we have two words for Carolyn Bessette Kennedy: Watch out.
