Wilson and Latinos
In a speech the other day, Gov. Wilson said that Latinos have been “misled into the mistaken belief that the vast majority of Californians, who in fact bear them no malice whatsoever . . . are somehow hostile to Hispanics” (Sept. 7). Later in his speech, he spoke of the hate mail that he received after he posed with the mayor of Tijuana.
My question is, if Californians bear no malice toward Latinos, why did he receive hate mail?
