Robitaille Sharp in 4-3 Win

In his first game since rejoining the Kings, left wing Luc Robitaille had one goal and two assists in a 4-3 victory over San Jose in the exhibition opener for both teams Sunday night at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Right wings Sandy Moger and Glen Murray scored goals and Robitaille had a goal and an assist as the Kings took a 3-1 lead after one period. Center Olli Jokinen, the Kings’ No. 1 draft choice in June, scored the winning goal early in the third period. San Jose rallied to make the final score close with late goals by Shean Donovan with 2:48 to play and by Viktor Kozlov with 1:07 remaining.

Left wing Matt Zultek played well and assisted on Moger’s goal. Murray also added an assist.

Goaltender Stephane Fiset made 44 saves for the Kings, who will play the Colorado Avalanche tonight in Denver.

Center Ray Ferraro, who had missed the first three days of training camp because of off-season sinus surgery, has been cleared for practice.. . . Moger suffered a minor foot injury against the Sharks and will miss tonight’s game. . . . Goalie Jamie Storr will start in the net against the Avalanche.
