School Official Resigns After Tests Are Disqualified
The assistant vice principal who administered more than 250 advanced placement tests that were disqualified because students sat too close to one another has resigned from her job at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach.
Jacklynn Wexler, who had been at the high school for a year, resigned effective Aug. 29, Manhattan Beach Unified School Supt. Jerry Davis said Monday.
In July, the Educational Testing Service invalidated the test results of exams taken two months earlier in chemistry, English literature, microeconomics, U.S. history, biology, Spanish, European history, calculus, and government and politics. The students, who are able to receive college credits for taking the exams, were allowed to retake the tests in August.
Davis said the school district wanted Wexler to transfer to a job working with pupil and personnel services in the special education department.
