Share

Auto buffs who want to help children with life-threatening diseases are wanted for the Amgen Annual Classic Car Show on Sunday in Thousand Oaks.

The seventh annual cavalcade of cars, motorcycles and trucks is a fund-raiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Tri-Counties and will help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. The event will be held at Amgen headquarters, 2150 W. Hillcrest Drive, Building 34.

Since Amgen began sponsoring the car show, the biotechnology firm has raised more than $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, said Shanna Wasson Taylor, a spokeswoman for the charity.

Make-A-Wish volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the organization, and how groups can hold events to benefit the foundation.

In addition, there will be a table for those who want to make a donation. Food and beverages will be available.

Registration is $15 for the event, which takes place from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Viewing hours are 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
