A rose might still be a rose, but, depending upon where you eat, a McDonald’s burger is The Rocket, The Big ‘n Tasty or the QPLT. The latest soldiers in the never-ending burger wars are designed to blunt an attack by Miami-based Burger King, which recently added the huge Big King sandwich. The Rocket is sold in Raleigh, N.C., current home of NFL star Raghib “Rocket” Ismail. Californians munch the Big ‘n Tasty, which features a “savory” sauce. The QPLTs--Quarter Pounder with lettuce and tomato--is sold in Oregon. Among the other entries: burgers smothered in pepper-mustard sauce for consumers in Louisiana and plain old mayonnaise for Iowans.
