2 Men, Woman Found Dead in Apartment
Two men and a woman were found shot to death Wednesday in an apartment on a residential street in Bell, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
The victims, each shot at least once in the upper body, were discovered about 1:15 p.m. after police received an anonymous tip that two small children were playing unsupervised in front of the apartment complex in the 6200 block of Riverside Avenue, deputies said.
When asked where their parents were, the children led authorities to the apartment, authorities said. There was no response when police knocked on the door, but officers heard a child crying inside. The officers got a master key from the apartment manager and entered the apartment, where they found the bodies and a crying 9-month-old girl, authorities said.
The identities of the victims and the time of death were not immediately clear, deputies said.
The motive for the slayings was not known and authorities had not yet determined the relationship of the victims to the three children. The three children were taken to the Bell Police Department, where county social services workers were summoned late Wednesday.
