A local group has offered to buy the Edmonton Oilers, who were put up for sale by Peter Pocklington three months ago.
Details of the bid and the identities of the investors were not released. The buyers were identified only as Edmonton Investors Group Ltd.
Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Dino Ciccarelli signed a one-year contract extension, a deal that reportedly offers him the option of returning next season at a $2 million base salary.
