Ervine Scores Twice in Splash Victory
Dale Ervine scored twice to help the visiting Splash to a 4-3 victory over Sacramento Sunday in a Continental Indoor Soccer League game.
The victory moved the Splash (15-12) into second place, a half-game ahead of Sacramento.
John Garvey and Mark Thomas scored fourth-quarter goals for Sacramento (14-12).
Thomas’s goal came with about two minutes left and Sacramento using an extra attacker. The Splash got solid defense the rest of the way, led by goalkeeper Reuben Fernandez, who made 20 saves.
Ervine scored off an assist from Ricky Rodriguez late in the second quarter to put the Splash ahead, 3-1.
Ervine scored again unassisted early in the third quarter as the Splash opened a 4-1 lead.
