Sales, Prices Jump for Conejo Valley Real Estate

There were 377 single-family homes sold in the Conejo Valley in August, compared to 363 sold in July and 300 in August 1996, according to the Conejo Valley Assn. of Realtors.

The median sales price for single-family homes in August was $269,519, compared to $247,141 in August 1996. The median price is the point where half the units sold for more and half for less.

The median price breakdowns were $190,000 for 13 homes with up to two bedrooms; $215,624 for 129 three-bedroom homes; and $308,870 for 235 homes with four or more bedrooms. A year earlier, the breakdown was $165,000 for nine two-bedroom homes; $213,392 for 103 three-bedroom homes; and $283,928 for 188 homes with four or more bedrooms.

There were 105 condominiums sold in the Conejo Valley in August, compared to 97 in July and 76 in August 1996.

Sales for all real estate transactions in August totaled $135.4 million. In 1996, the figure was $100.9 million.
