Writer-performer Jim Wise, who appears through May 2 in the Groundlings’ sketch-improv comedy show “Groundlings Control to Major Tom.”

Going to a Go-Go: After the Friday show, we go down to this bar on Melrose called Kane. They have go-go dancers and a DJ who plays Motown and other vintage soul. It’s casual and lots of fun.

Saturday Morning Ritual: My girlfriend, Kim, and I have made it a policy to roller-blade down to the Omelette Parlor in Santa Monica every Saturday morning. We like to get there about 8 a.m. because there’s a huge line later on. I always get the Boarding House Omelette. It’s got snow peas, broccoli, mushrooms, peppers . . . every vegetable you can imagine. It also comes with enough potatoes to choke a horse.

‘Saturday Night’ Taped: We’ve got a lot of Groundlings alumni in the “Saturday Night Live” cast. So I tape the show and watch it when I get home from performing the two Saturday night shows. I like to run the tape back. It’s like a pitcher watching a baseball game. Then I might check in with some of them in New York on Sunday. I’ll talk to them about the show and what I thought worked and what didn’t. It’s not like I’m criticizing them. But it’s something that we have in common and we like to talk about it.

Strumming Around: Sunday is my only genuine day off, so it tends to be a pretty lazy day. But I do like to go up to McCabe’s Guitar Shop and play the guitars there. It’s fun playing the acoustic bass guitar. You get this full, round sound.
