Irvine Valley 3, Palomar 0--Todd Austin had 10 kills to lead Irvine Valley (12-9, 8-7) to a 15-4, 15-5, 15-8 victory over Palomar (5-16, 2-13).

In Orange Empire Conference baseball:

Fullerton 4, Cypress 3--Bill Brundige’s suicide squeeze scored Jeremy Viscusi to win the game in the seventh inning for the Hornets (13-15-1). Consecutive RBI singles by Viscusi and catcher Sean Kane tied the score, 3-3.

Fullerton pitcher Jim Hostetler (4-2) won, striking out eight and giving up two earned runs. David McLean came on in the ninth inning and forced a game-ending double play for his sixth save.

Orange Coast 10, Riverside 8--Catcher John Luken had three hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs to help Orange Coast (14-14, 6-10) win at Riverside.

Left fielder Ivan Loochkartt also scored three runs and had two hits, and Chad Gonzalez (1-0) gave up only two hits and no runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief for the win.

Second baseman Jason Clements had a double and his third home run of the season for Riverside (23-7, 12-5).

Saddleback 7, Golden West 1--Denny Seybert had two hits and three RBIs and Clare Langford was two for three with two RBIs and three runs scored for visiting Saddleback (21-7, 10-6). Pat Versluis pitched seven innings and gave up one run and five hits for his fifth win of the season.

Brian Jones was two for three and had the only RBI for Golden West (14-14).
