Campaign Reform

Share

As a member of a third party I am glad that McCain-Feingold failed to pass. In my view there is already too much regulation on my right of free speech and political expression. These regulations run counter to the intent of the 1st Amendment. Spending your own money to express your political beliefs is the very essence of the democratic process and free speech. If I lose the right to give as much money as I can afford to my party, how can my political beliefs be heard over the two major parties and the mainstream TV and press?

If you want true reform and political diversity, remove all individual limits on political spending and demand full disclosure by the candidates on the Internet. As long as government affects so much of our lives, you have a situation begging for corruption. The only answer is more openness and freedom.
