Firm’s Ex-Controller Admits Embezzlement
A former trucking company employee has pleaded guilty to embezzling about $260,000 during a two-year period, according to the office of Orange County Dist. Atty. Mike Capizzi.
Elizabeth Keegan, 46, of Oceanside pleaded guilty Friday to one count of felony grand theft, prosecutors said.
Keegan was hired in 1991 as a controller for Cypress-based System Reefer Service Inc. Keegan systematically diverted $262,000 from the trucking company from January 1994 through November 1996, according to prosecutors.
Keegan faces 40 months in state prison at her May 8 sentencing. Prosecutors expect she will be ordered to pay full restitution to her former employer.
