A man was beaten with an aluminum baseball bat and his female friend was slammed in the face with a garage door and nearly run down by a speeding truck during an attack at the man’s Ventura house, police said Wednesday.

Michael Lapadakis, 35, also suffered a gash in his neck from a window that was shattered during the 6:35 p.m. incident Tuesday on the 2900 block of Sailor Avenue, Officer Mark Cleavenger said.

Neither Lapadakis nor his friend, 24-year-old Veronica Adams, sought emergency medical treatment, hospital officials said.

Authorities want to question Peter Joseph Bowen, 35, Frank Rheinholdt, 36, and a 30-year-old man known as “Binky” in connection with the attack, Cleavenger said. The three were seen leaving the house in a 1996 white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with the license plate number 5G74002, Cleavenger said.

Bowen was reportedly angry with Lapadakis over an argument Lapadakis had with Bowen’s older brother earlier in the week, Cleavenger said. The nature of the earlier disagreement was unclear.
